New ClearPath Libra 750 Server Delivers Performance and Flexibility
Please join us in welcoming the newest model to the ClearPath Libra family! We are proud to announce the release of the ClearPath Libra 750 Server, a mid-range platform that delivers a scalable, policy-based architecture. Ideal for enterprise environments, this new model enables you to run hundreds of business-critical workloads and databases under a single instance of the ClearPath MCP operating system – while providing the same industry-standard development tools and high levels of security, availability, and resiliency you’ve come to expect from a ClearPath server.
The Libra 750 Specs
A fully redundant, dual-cell platform, the Libra 750 mainframe can operate as two independent partitions – each with its own processors, memory, and I/O – enabling you to effectively address dynamic operational environments.
The Libra 750 is a metered system, which enables you to adopt a Pay-for-Use business model by paying only for those resources you consume, while providing the flexibility to tap into extra processing power when needed. In fact, the Libra 750 Server delivers 60 to 1,400 metered MIPS, with a ceiling at 2,000 MIPS, giving you the freedom to align computing resources with business needs.
As always, there’s no need to make any changes to your applications when moving them to the Libra 750 – this new system maintains complete code compatibility with older platforms. In addition, the Libra 750 delivers the same middleware and open features as other MCP-based servers, enabling it to fully participate in your service-oriented architecture (SOA) implementation.
This new platform includes a host of operating and development technologies, including the ClearPath MCP operating environment, Java and Java EE, and a fully integrated transaction processing infrastructure. Optional advanced development technologies include Agile Business Suite and Enterprise Application Environment.
What’s more, the Libra 750 includes optional integration with key Specialty Engines – each of which is integrated
with and runs under the control of the MCP operating system – designed to help you maximize your ClearPath
environment:
- ClearPath MCP JProcessor Specialty Engine provides a secure environment for your Java and PHP applications
- ClearPath ePortal makes transactions and applications available over the Web and on mobile devices, such as the Apple® iPhone®
- Cryptographic Coprocessor cost-effectively bolsters the security of your ClearPath environment, helping you more effectively protect sensitive data through advanced encryption
And to help you further match IT costs to your organizational requirements, the Libra 750 Server offers several flexible software licensing options:
