ClearPath OS 2200 Software Release 12.1 is Coming!
A release that will be available on all currently supported ClearPath Dorado server models, and includes more than 50 software enhancements, ClearPath OS 2200 Release 12.1 provides NEW functionality in the key areas of advanced application development, service-oriented architecture (SOA), security, and mission-critical attributes.
ClearPath OS 2200 Release 12.1 is an integrated package of 115-plus software products – all of which are developed and tested together and delivered as a single system that helps you save time, cut costs, and reduce risk.
Advanced Application Development
- ClearPath OS 2200 IDE for Eclipse™: ClearPath OS 2200 Release 12.1 enables you to upgrade to Eclipse release 3.5 (Galileo) and leverage standard features from the Eclipse Foundation, including provisioning, security, modeling tools, and additional support for SOA. The COBOL plug-in for Eclipse now provides an auto-completion feature for variable names and improved interactive debugging of multi-task programs. ClearPath OS 2200 IDE for Eclipse enables you to use industrystandard development technology, expanding the resource pool of available, knowledgeable developers while minimizing investments.
- RDMS Enhancements: RDMS contains a number of updates, including five new SQL features, two administrative improvements, and one performance enhancement.
SOA
- DMS Resource Adapter: The DMS Resource Adapter contains performance improvements and additional ease-of-use features.
- JDBC interface for RDMS: The JDBC interface now features support for multiple levels of RDMS.
- Java Connectors: Java connectors are available to DMS, RDMS, BIS, TIP, OpenDTP, and HVTIP. These connectors are an excellent and easy way to integrate ClearPath assets with external Java applications.
Security
- Enterprise Output Manager: With Release 8.1 – included in the IOE – Enterprise Output Manager now offers
the ability to send and receive encrypted e-mails and digitally sign e-mails for a higher level of security. - SSL and TLS Changes: The SSL and TLS updates implemented in ClearPath OS 2200 Release 12.0 have been extended to the Java to OpenDTP connector.
- CPComm or CPCommOS: These products can now be configured to require client certificates on terminal sessions without host application changes.
- Cipher API: ClearPath OS 2200 Release 12.1 enables the Cipher API to be called from either a Java program or command line.
Mission-Critical Attributes
- Efficiency Improvements: ClearPath OS 2200 Release 12.1 delivers efficiency advancements for the DMS Resource Adapter, Java, and OpenDTP; accelerates XATMI and XA calls; and provides more and faster connections in the COMAPI Queue Bank Repository.
- CIFS: CIFS now has a 24x7 capability, enabling the continuous operation of such resources as Java-based servers.
